Our setup in Venezuela consists of Combined Demurrage & Detention.
This means you will have one combined free time period and compensation for utilization of equipment inside and outside of terminals or depots, referred to as Combined Demurrage & Detention.

Mandatory for Customs
Venezuela doesn't accept any collect charges since 2003 due to foreign currency control.
No Split allowed, Seaway bills, Non-Signature BL, Dummy BL, Telex Release and containers without documentation are not acceptable.
Type of document: SWB / Express release / Telex release: They are not accepted. The Bill of lading must be printed to be able to clear customs.
Original BL printing: There are not extra fees for the BL printing by the offices of our port operator or Sealand office.
Import manifest: Is submitted 48 hours before vessel arrival to the Venezuelan port.
By law we only have 24 hours after the arrival of the vessel to modify the import manifest.
Registros SIDUNEA: The Import manifest number of each voyage and import yard is published through the link: Sidunea Register
Changes to the BL: All BL amendments after the submission of the import manifest must be requested via email to ve.import@maersk.com.
Commodities restriction for import cargo:
- Used clothes and shoes
- Import of 5-year-old vehicles
- Used tires.
Shipment Parties restrictions
To order consignees: We don’t accept this kind of consignee.
Consignee: Must be Venezuelan companies.
Freight Charges: We don’t accept collect charges, all must be prepaid by the shipper.
