Documentation requirements
- Telex release figure is feasible in Cuba
- Import SEAWAY BILL is accepted.
- Original BLS is accepted.
- If b/ is printed at origin shipper must send to consignee in order to release import cargo.
- To print Original Documentation in Cuba, it is needed to re-assign the task Issue Original Transport to Marinter sa.
Special Customs requirement
- Spanish or English description for commodities on B/L's required by customs, detail commodity description for Customs clearance and tax payment.
- All Customers must be registered in Government database and have to be NFC or ID registered
- Original BL required to clear customs.
- No dummy BL/s are accepted by authorities (customs) for any purpose.
- Weight must be in kilos and measurement in cubic meters (CBM).
- Manifest must be presented 48 hours prior to vessel arrival.
- Amendments CAN'T be done once cargo has been manifested, If any amendment is performing of requested after this time. A customs fee of US$500 per container will apply and other charges that Customs can apply like fine to the customer.
- Foreign consignees are not allowed.
- Consignee "To order" is acceptable only if there is a valid local notify party.
- Consignee or Notify Party must be local. In case local consignee or notify is missing, shipping instructions must be rejected by documentation team unless switch is involved where the foreign party is acceptable.
- If customs clearance is not presented at port during 30 days after arrival. Containers will fail in abandonment status as per local customs regulations
