Country DnD set-up: “Free Time” is the period agreed between the Carrier and the Merchant for which Demurrage & Detention and Terminal Storage shall not be paid by the Merchant.
Freetime:Split: DnD export setup in Portugal consists of two elements: Detention and Demurrage. Demurrage includes terminal Storage cost.
Detention: Compensation payable when the Merchant holds Carrier's Container outside the port, terminal or depot beyond the agreed amount of Free Time.
Demurrage: Compensation payable when the Merchant holds Carrier’s Container inside the terminal, port or depot beyond the agreed amount of Free Time (the compensation includes terminal storage costs).

Description
Refers to the compensation for the utilization of equipment outside of terminals:
Starts to apply as from SAME DAY of EMPTY PICK-UP at port, terminal or depot until THE DAY OF GATE-IN at terminal, both days included.

DEMURRAGE

Description
Refers to the compensation for the utilization of equipment inside of terminal, including compensation for utilizing the port, terminal or depot facilities
Commences on and includes the day that the full container GATE-IN FULL at the terminal, ends on and includes the day that the container is LOADED for delivery from the terminal.
|
- Non-operating reefer (NOR) will be charged as DRY equipment
- Reefer storage includes plug-in/electricity charges
- Shipper's own containers (SOC) are not subject to Combined DnD and are subject to storage
- Calculation is Progressive: in case free days are exceeded, lying costs are invoiced according to the Tier-group where the days used fall
- Ocean ports: Demurrage starts from gate-in day (included) on the terminal, ends with loading day (included) to vessel
- Rail ramps: Demurrage start event is second Gate in Full (at Water Terminal)
- Remember that spot conditions could be different to these ones and you can check it at the booking stage
- Imo rates are applicable for all container types

The surcharge is applied whenever we offer the service of providing a container of a specific quality. It will cover food grade containers, containers of a specific age, containers for specific commodities (such as electronics). The quality assessment is made and defined by the clusters. Customs clearance - documentation requirements:
- All information related to customs clearance documents, MRN, weights, quantities, etc., must be submitted to customs.portugal@lns.maersk.com;
- All clearance documents for integration in JUPSINES must be send to customs.portugal@lns.maersk.com, should you require Maersk to handle the upload in the Sines port platform.
- All emails must indicate in the subject field : PORT / BOOKING / VESSEL – as to optimize procedures and guarantee efficient data visualization and proccessing.
- Requests for manifest amendments or manifest consultations, must continue to be filed throught the dedicated portal
- Late submission of Shipping instructions (SI) or changes to the manifest resulting from inaccuracies in the IS, maintain the cost presented on the portal.
- We remind our Customers that the deadlines for the maritime and documentary operations are made available daily in the link.
