We are writing to inform you of upcoming changes to the process for returning empty containers. These updates are designed to improve efficiency and align with operational requirements as part of our new Gemini network operating from the port of London Gateway.
Key Changes:
- Merchant Haulage and Empty Return process: As part of the transition, full containers picked up on merchant haulage basis from Felixstowe will need to be returned to London Gateway. Your haulier can continue to book the empty returns for cargo collected from Felixstowe using MATS online (https://matsonline.maersk.com/), there is no change to this process. The off-hire process remains unchanged.
This change excludes all cargo shipped on our SLC / Aegean Sea service, which will continue to arrive in Felixstowe and we will accept empty returns there. - Effective Date: 0900hrs, Monday 31st March
Next Steps: We encourage you to review your current bookings and liaise with your hauliers to comply with the above.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local Customer Experience representative.
