This is a proactive notification in line with the following challenges at the Port of Mombasa Kenya.
Over the past few weeks, we have been experiencing berthing congestion due to higher than expected yard density and equipment challenges, resulting in vessel berthing and departure delays.
We are also experiencing delays in arrivals from Far East Asia due to vessel waiting times in Shanghai, Ningbo and Singapore, our vessels on this service that were expected to arrive Thursday are now berthing later, on Friday, with ETAs further adjusted due to the waiting time, which may delay the discharge of import cargo.
As a result of these challenges, from time-to-time we may experience unexpected cut and runs where we may not be able to accommodate all the containers as we strive to meet connections at the transshipment ports. Please be patient when this happens, and we will work to prioritize shipments on the next available vessel.
We appreciate your patience during this time and assure you that working round the clock, to ensure that our operations return to normal for better productivity.
While we face these challenges, we kindly request that you take note of the cut-off timelines and plan for on timely stacking/gate in of your export units to facilitate loading.
