How our end-to-end solutions helped the customer deliver their polymers on time.

The customer
Pemex is an international trading company specialising in styrene polymers. They undertake production, import and order placements from China, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Oman. They also arrange packing and grading in the United Arab Emirates and export raw materials to South America, Oceania and the Mediterranean. Given the enormous demand for plastics around the world, Pemex focuses on fast and timely deliveries to their customers.
The challenge
Due to the limited availability of resources, Pemex found they spent a lot of time managing their end-to-end supply chain processes. They were also facing constant booking cancellations caused by container space constraints. This led to difficulty in conducting their core business and moving their dangerous goods (DG) shipments in 40-ft high cube (HC) containers, which are taller than regular shipping containers, to accommodate outsized cargo. Pemex needed a partner who could move their cargo by offering a reliable supply chain solution, service support and competitive prices.

The solution
We worked with Pemex to thoroughly understand their needs and requirements and found that their Logistics & Services (L&S) processes were being outsourced, leading to complexities. We proposed a solution where our end-to-end L&S products would help them move their cargo on time. This included carrier haulage, customs clearance, Value Protect – our risk protection solution – along with ocean services in 40-ft open-top in-gauge containers.
The result
Our end-to-end L&S solution helped the customer grow their business across the world. With the reduction in time spent managing supply chain contingencies, they could focus on building long-term cooperation with their consumers and partners by offering competitive prices, fast delivery and excellent service.
