While we understand that this adjustment may affect your operations, please take note that all decisions are being made in line with the local regulations and tariffs in place.
As per the law of the land in Maldives, only the Documentation Fee – Destination (USD 50) is to be collected from the consignee. All other charges, including Customs Port Cost Charges, Import Service Charges, Container Protect Essential Charges, and Customs Visibility Destination—must be assigned to the freight payer, in accordance with local government regulations.
Above mentioned charges can be assigned to the consignee only if the consignee is the freight collect payer for a shipment.
If freight charges being assigned as collect, It is mandatory that the payer should be a Maldivian party. No foreign party can be assigned payer of freight collect for import shipments into Maldives.
Import manifest should be filed 24 hours prior vessel arrival to Maldives.
No acceptance of DG and 45’ equipment, freight collect shipments should be subject to prior approval.
