Terminal Storage: Compensation for utilizing the port, terminal, or depot facilities beyond the agreed amount of Free Time. (Invoiced as Demurrage). Storage at Port Said West, Damietta, Sokhna is settled directly to the terminal.

Notes:
- Freetime and charges per container per calendar day (i.e. including weekends and holidays) after freetime expires.
- Start date and end date are included in the calculation. https://terms.maersk.com/terms-spot-booking#term-header-5
- Shipper’s Own Container is considered as equivalent to corresponding container type.
- 40´ High and 45´ High containers are considered equal to 40´.
- NOR (non-operating reefer) is considered as Dry Container.
- Shipper’s owned tank with DRY cargo follows free time & rate of Dry equipment.
- Shipper’s owned tank with IMO cargo follows free time & rate of IMO.
- Open Top Out of Gauge and Flat Rack are considered as Special Containers.
- For special deals: Please bear in mind that the calculation method of charges for special deals (free-time granted > tariff free-time) is ‘progressive’ and the lead off rate slap(s) will be reduced by the number of days in excess of tariff free-time.
- Free time deals will be applied based on the effective deals at the Price Calculation Date (PCD)
- Pricing structure in Egypt consists of two elements; 1. Combined Demurrage & Detention and 2. Storage
- Combined Demurrage & Detention: Free time period and charges for utilization of equipment inside and outside of terminals or depots. (invoiced under DET).
- Storage: Free time period for use of terminal or depot space (invoiced under DMR). Reefer storage rates are combined for storage + Reefer power. Storage at Port Saied West, Damietta, Sokhna is settled directly to the terminal.

Bill of lading clausing
- All inbound bills of lading should be updated with the following clause:
- Free Out - "All discharging costs & other costs up to / including loading empty is for account & risk of merchant"
- In transit to Libya No acceptance of cargo "In transit to Libya" or consigned to Libyan consignees.
Cargo In-Transit to Libya clause is not acceptable and has been banned by the Libyan/Egyptian authorities and will be considered as act of smuggling except for cargo originating from a country with a shared border with Libya
Bill of lading General Requirements
- All bills of lading must show consignee's full name and address including phone number and, where possible, fax number.
- All consignments bound to Egypt must have an Egyptian recipient otherwise cargo will be subject to a customs fine of USD 250.
- Deadline for any amendment in the bill of lading, cargo destination, cargo weight etc...is 3 days prior to vessel arrival to avoid customs fines.
- "Full Liner Terms" is not applicable.
- Seal Number to be mandatory element to be contained in the shipping instructions submitted information not complete or declared may result in shipping instructions being rejected and this may impact the timeline for achieving loading pre-requisites:
- Seal number to be set mandatory to avoid the Seal mismatch and avoid delays in manifest submission.

According to Egyptian Tax Authority instructions for E-invoicing starting 01 April 2021 TAX ID Mandatory for any Egyptian customer (Shipper, Consignee, Price Owner, Notify or Invoice Party), we will not be able to create customer code without tax registration number, also invoices will not be triggered without the TAX ID No’s. - Advanced Cargo Information Declaration (ACID) Number:
According to Egyptian customs regulation all import shipments loading on or after 1 April, to EGYPT will require Advanced Cargo Information Declaration (ACID) number to be identified/stated clearly on Bills of Lading and reflected on cargo description in cargo Manifest. During this trial period from April till end of May, in event of missing ACID number, shipment will not* returned back to port of loading. Mandatory date of implementation for ‘ACI’ declaration is set on 1 October 2021 and we will not be able to discharge without ACID number after 30 June 2021.
Currency
- Both prepaid and collect freight are acceptable in USD / EUR .
Restriction on B2C (Business to Customer) shipments to Egypt :
Maersk Egypt Should Not invoice any charge to Individuals (persons) due to taxation regulation restrictions.
As a result, Origin CX\Documentation team is responsible to ensure a freight forwarder Or an entity that has a valid Tax ID – will be added as an Invoice Party for All Collect Charges to maintain a B2B module.
Under no circumstances, no invoice will be issued to Individuals.
Import shipments with Individuals Invoice parties will be Excluded from Import Manifest without a notice.
