What is ground freight?
Ground freight refers to transporting goods over land, typically using trucks, without relying on shipping containers. It plays a key role in supply chains by enabling efficient movement of goods across local and international distribution networks.
Shipments are usually handled through:
- Full Truckload (FTL): When one customer’s shipment fills an entire truck.
- Less-than-Truckload (LTL): When multiple smaller shipments from different customers share the truck space.
