How do you calculate the emissions and what is included?
Being a member of Smart Freight Centre (SFC), a globally active non-profit organization for climate action in the freight sector, we are committed to the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) framework.
Our calculation methodology is based on the GLEC standard, which is the leading global standard for estimating transport emissions. At a high level, by using distance, freight weight and mode of transport, our calculation tool allows us tocan estimate the required energy for the transport and further calculate the resulting emissions applying respective emission factors.
Emissions Studio is powered by EcoTransIT World – a software that is accredited by Smart Freight Center and aligned with the requirements of ISO 14083: 2023.
