What is CY and SD?
CY stands for Container Yard shipments. This is where Maersk’s responsibility starts and/or ends in a container yard facility (ie ocean/barge port, container depot), while customer is responsible to arrange transportation for the remainder of container journey.
SD stands for Store Door. This is where Maersk, as Carrier, bears the responsibility of transporting the container(s) from the load address to the export port and/or from the discharge port to the container delivery address.
