At Maersk, we continuously strive to provide you with relevant information pertaining to logistical events in a timely manner. As your integrated end-to-end logistics partner, we believe that by sharing current and accurate information, you are better positioned to respond, should there be impacts to your supply chain.
We are now writing you to inform you that as of the morning (CET) of 09 January 2023, the vessel MV Glory ran aground in the Suez Channel. Please note that the vessel is not a Maersk vessel, and we do not expect this to have large-scale impacts or delays for supply chains overall.
According to our intelligence, the vessel has been re-floated again, with 21 vessels going southbound experiencing minor delays. They are expected to resume their transits shortly. The Suez Canal Authority confirms that other ships were able to pass the Glory while it was grounded.
Currently we do not have information about any Maersk-owned or leased vessels were involved in the incident. Should this change, we will ensure to update via Advisories | News & Advisories | Maersk.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your local Maersk-representative, should you have any questions or queries. We remain at your service and are ready to assist in any way we can.
