Effective from the Price Calculation Date of 27th July 2026, the Heavy Load Surcharge (HWS) will no longer apply to shipments from Far East Asia to Croatia, Egypt, Hungary, Serbia, and Turkey.

The existing tariff levels are as follows:

The table above includes other destination countries, as referenced in the previous announcement, to present all applicable Heavy Load Surcharge details for this trade in a single consolidated table.

20 dry equipment types in this implementation include 20’Dry, 20’Bulk, 20’Collapsible Flat rack, 20’ Flat rack, 20’ Hive, 20’ Pallet Wide, 20’ Open top, 20’ Tank, and 20’ Twin Deck.

When Verified Gross Mass (VGM) exceeds the weight threshold, Heavy Load Surcharge will be triggered. The Verified Gross Mass (VGM) is the weight of the cargo including dunnage and bracing plus the tare weight of the container carrying this cargo.

Heavy Load Surcharge will be applicable to all Ocean products including contract products, SPOT, Maersk Go, and others.

For non-FMC, PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation for non-spot bookings.
For FMC, PCD is last container gate-in date for non-spot bookings.
For SPOT booking, the above rate is retrieved based on booking confirmation date.

For trades subject to the US Shipping Act or the China Maritime Regulations, quotations or surcharges that vary from the Maersk tariff shall not be binding on Maersk unless included in a service contract or service contract amendment that has been filed with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) or the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, as applicable.
