Please be advised of the following Dangerous Goods (DG) discharge requirements, along with discharge conditions which will commence from 1 July 2026 at Tauranga Container Terminal (TCT).
Prior to vessel arrival, the following must be confirmed:- Customs clearance
- MPI clearance
- Shipping Line release
- Confirmed transport arrangements for removal within the allowable dwell period.
DG containers will only be discharged where there is clear assurance that all legal dwell requirements can be met.
TCT operates as a Transit Depot, and as such:- Most DG classes are limited to a maximum dwell time of 3 days
- Certain classes (including Class 1, 5.1, 6, and 7) are subject to more restrictive controls
- TCT has no authority to approve storage beyond these limits
- DG containers will remain on board the vessel, or
- The Shipping Line must arrange alternative off-site storage
TCT will not discharge DG where there is a foreseeable risk of exceeding legal dwell limits.
Customers are requested to review these updated conditions carefully and ensure full compliance ahead of cargo arrival to avoid any potential delays, disruptions, or additional costs which will be the responsibility of the customer.
