In the light of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs for the Sultanate of Oman decided to take additonal measures to mitigate disruptions and accelerate the flow of goods at critical locations such as the port of Sohar. In this sense any container which is not gated-out from the port of Sohar witin 3 days from discharge will be moved to an off-dock location in Sohar Freezone, at a cost of OMR 250 per container.
As a consequence, Maersk is introducing the Port Additionals / Port Dues Import (PAI) for the scope: World to Sohar Free Zone, OM or via Sohar, OM, effective from 15th-April-2026 until further notice. For United States, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands(US), Guam, Colombia, Taiwan, Brazil this charge will be effective from 01st-May-2026 until further notice.

* Non-SPOT booking – The above rate is retrieved based on PCD. PCD = Price Calculation Date. For non-FMC, PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation for non-spot bookings. For FMC, PCD is last container gate-in date for non-spot bookings.
* SPOT booking – The above rate is retrieved based on 1st vessel ETD at booking confirmation for Spot bookings.
