As part of our continuous efforts to optimize our network and ensure reliable service offerings, we are reviewing our connectivity between South Europe and Canada.
Effective July 1, 2026, the Med–Canada Express (MCX) service will be phased out. Until this date, the service will continue to operate as scheduled and accept bookings as usual.
What this means for you
To ensure continued coverage on the trade, cargo will be routed via alternative Maersk services using transshipment hubs in Europe. This solution will maintain connectivity between South Europe and North America while ensuring network efficiency and service reliability.
- No immediate changes – The MCX service will continue to operate and accept bookings until the phase-out date.
- Final sailings – The last westbound and eastbound sailings will be BARCELONA EXPRESS/626W & DACHAN BAY EXPRESS/627E
- Alternative solutions – If you require support moving cargo between South Europe and Canada following the phase-out of the MCX service, please contact your Maersk sales representative, who will be happy to discuss alternative routing options tailored to your needs.
We remain committed to supporting your supply chain and ensuring a smooth transition. Should you have any questions, please contact your local customer service or sales representative.
