In addition to the earlier ECS announcement for Dry cargo, we would like to inform you of updates to the Emergency Contingency Surcharge (ECS) for Reefers and Special Cargo.
- New ECS levels will apply to cargo originating from below Origins to Oman (excluding Sohar) and Middle East Red Sea ports (Jordan, Jeddah, and King Abdullah), effective Price Calculation Date (PCD) 17 March for Non-FMC trades.
- For FMC-regulated countries (United States, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Taiwan, and Colombia), a 30-day notice period will apply with implementation date of 17th April. For Vietnam, a 15-day notice period will apply with implementation date of 2nd April
- The updated ECS levels are reflected in the table below, and the Rate Announcements page has been updated accordingly.
- All surcharge changes remain subject to any applicable regulatory approvals and notice periods, after which the surcharge will become effective. Applicable surcharges will be reflected in your latest invoices, and we will continue to keep you informed of any further updates.

The rates apply to all OOG, SOC and NOR containers also. So 40 Flat/Open/NOR will have the same rate as 40 Dry
Cargo in transit will not be impacted by this implementation
